Breakfast served at 8.30 – enjoyed a little sleep
in! About 10 we left, having spoken to
the office lady, Ramsey, about tickets for the Old Town Trolley tour. We had to walk a little way to the trolley
stop, they come about every half hour.
Did the tour around the whole of Key West – heard the history and
interesting tales…. ‘Did you know that at this point on the map that you are
closer to Cuba than to a Walmart?’
Ended the tour back at Mallory Square to do a spot
of shopping – Lesley and I bought locally made leather ‘flip flops’ for $20 and
a few other things. Lunch at the Conch
Republic Seafood Company, right in the harbor where the fishing boats had
returned from their morning trips and were filleting fish and feeding the
tarpon. Some impressive and fairly big
fishing vessels there….
