Daytona - Sunday

Lesley and I went walking in the morning along beautiful Daytona beach!  It was very warm.
There's an environmental information area for public education.  I found it interesting that this beach has the same turtle nesting as our beach and similar problems.

About 1000 people came swarming out of the Hilton Hotel, headed to the beach.  Lesley asked what they were doing, it was a church youth group from Minnesota being baptized.

Sunday afternoon we went to the Tap Room, a bar with huge tv sets showing the NFL game between Buffalo Bills (Jim’s team) and New England Patriots.  It started well for the Bills, then went downhill.  Jimmy was at the Tiki Bar so we drove a couple of miles over to the beach and found that bar.  It was right on the beach line, with a guy playing music, shady and breezy.   I found it fascinating to see cars parked on the beach and a designated road way.  Bills lost the game – but it was hilarious watching Jim and Jimmy giving Jimmy’s friend, Chris – a Patriots supporter – plenty of lip.

Drove to a restaurant called the ‘Ocean Deck’ for dinner.  Right on the beach, it has a great view of the water and we managed to get a table right at the front glass!
