An interesting start to the journey before we even left home! Awake at 3.30am for our 5.10am pick up with the transport company, we heard an unfamiliar beeping.... the smoke alarms were letting us know they were low on batteries! Oh No! Where to find 9V batteries at 4am. Thanks to the local 7-Eleven, problem solved and fixed just before the driver arrived.
Flew from Brisbane to Sydney then into customs and the Qantas lounge awaiting our flight on the A380 to Dallas, Texas!
14 hours and 40 minutes. L-o-n-g. One fairly well behaved baby (the poor darlin') in the row behind and to the right of us. Exit row seats helped although we were right next to the galley and there was constant bustle and noise for most of the trip. Staff very friendly and efficient. L-o-n-g flight. Happy to arrive in Texas!
Weather was fine, clear and very warm. Picked up the hire car and headed for our airport hotel. Spent the next two days driving in and around Irving, made very easy due to the GPS. One quick trip into Fort Worth to find the spa shop and order a part.

Early flight to Orlando on United airlines, via Houston. No probs.
So happy to see Lesley and Jim when we arrived in Orlando and they picked us up! Had fun fitting one suitcase in but we did it!
Headed to Daytona and to Panheads Pizza for dinner. Jimmy, Jim's son, met us. It was a hoot of an evening, with great food and lots of craft beer to choose from!
